first_imgThe Fisher Price child’s toy you see above is called the Imaginext Robot Police Tank. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t have been that impressed to receive this as a gift when I was a kid. There’s just not much to it, and the bright plastic look is a bit hard on the eye. However, I am grateful Fisher Price decided to release the tank, because it has been used as a base for the best Metal Slug Super Vehicle Tank model I have ever seen. Feast your eyes on this beauty (click the image to see it full size):Anyone who has played a Metal Slug game will recognize this tank as a major component of the gameplay. This model is the work of Jin Saotome, who specializes in custom action figures and supporting models. He took the original Police Tank, ripped off the robot arms and lights, and filled it with Apoxie Sculpt. He then added a bunch of objects from other toys to get the overall look including a Hero factory chest, Sigma Duke wind-up gun barrels, and ML Heroes Reborn Iron Man pipes. Even the models of Marco and Tarma started out life as something completely different, in this case GI Joes.Saotome could easily sell this model for over $100 to a Metal Slug fan, possibly much more. So it’s interesting to note the original Police Tank can be picked up for under $10. Still, it’s the skillful modeling work you’d be paying for here.Checkout DeviantArt at the link below for more pictures and a detailed description of all the parts he used to create this awesome model.Read more at DeviantArt, via Kotakulast_img read more
