first_imgRory Gallagher is on course to earn his first competitive win as Donegal manager as his side lead Queen’s University Belfast by seven points at half-time. Odhran MacNiallais has produced a superb first-half performance for Donegal in their Dr McKenna Cup clash with QUB.In their second Dr McKenna Cup outing, Gallagher has again adopted an experimental approach to team selection but has opted to re-introduce some senior players who played a big part in Donegal’s success last season.Frank McGlynn, Christy Toye and Odhran MacNiallais have all made their first appearances of the 2015 season in this afternoon’s encounter with the students. Odhran MacNiallais has continued his stunning form from the 2014 season by kicking four excellent points in the opening period.The Gaoth Dobhair club man scored two points from play, one from a 45 and another from a free.Christy Toye has also excelled in the middle sector of the pitch alongside club mate Martin McElhinney.Donegal’s goals came from Marty O’Reilly and their second goal came from Glenswilly full-back Eamon Ward.
